Erik Brockley

Erikb_webErik Brockley was a messed up little kitten when he was abandoned in front of a pet store back in 1991 in Beaverton, Oregon.  My mother rescued him and he came to live with me.  Erik Brockley was named after Erik Huntzicker and Jani Brockley, two close friends of mine.  Erik the human was moving off to attend medical school in Minnesota and Jani was heading to graduate school in New Jersey .  Realizing that I would miss them terribly I named the kitten after them to help P1010012_web2 compensate.  Animals are people too in my family and Erik was as close to human as you a can get.  Each night he slept with Liz and me (most of the time on the top of my head).  Tonight he unexpectedly passed away.  The picture above was taken of Erik this summer just after the twins were born.  In this second picture, which was taken last week, Erik is seen taking a nap with our other cat Freedom.  We’re all going to miss him.  You can find a few more pictures by clicking here.
