The Rev. Dr. Peggy Way sat down with me this morning and talked about her new book Created by God: Pastoral Care for All God’s People. Rev. Way is an ordained United Church of Christ minister who is recognized as one of the leading experts in the field of pastoral care. This spring she retired as the The Allen and Cornelia Wehrli Professor of Pastoral Theology at Eden Theological Seminary. Way received her BD from Chicago Theological Seminary and her PhD from Princeton Theological Seminary. She also has an MSW from Wayne State University School of Social Work and a DD from Chicago Theological Seminary and Doane College. I had the good fortunate of taking several classes from Rev. Way over the last few years. Her book is one that will expand the definition of pastoral care for lay people, seminarians, and clergy.
