Take note: this is an historic day for all Christians.
DURHAM, N.H. (Reuters) - The Rev. Canon V. Gene Robinson was consecrated on Sunday as the first openly gay bishop of the U.S. Episcopal Church, a move that threatens to tear apart the worldwide Anglican community. The Most Rev. Frank Griswold, presiding bishop of the U.S. Episcopal Church, consecrated Robinson as bishop during a ceremony before several thousand people in an ice hockey arena at the University of New Hampshire.
Protests and even threats of violence have marked the day. But Brian Winslow of New Hampshire came to show support for the new Bishop. In one moment, Mr. Winslow summed up everything that is important to remember.
