As The Oregonian notes, the city of Portland is about to bestow their annual "Spirit of Portland Awards." Two of my favorite people in the world - Loyd Hubbard and the late F. Gene Ediger - are past recipients. These awards are given out to people and organizations that work to promote to common good of our community. I'm always impressed with the accomplishments of those who receive the award. Portland is a great city and we should stop and recognize those that make it even better.
