The fire set at a mosque in Corvallis is an affront to God. As a Christian, I condemn this event and call on all people of faith to renounce violence and to join in common pursuit of the Beloved Community. The planned bombing of Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square is no excuse for further violence. Such acts dishonor the God that calls creation to reconciliation and justice. Muslims in Oregon and across the United States have condemned the planned terrorist attack in Portland. Christians, Jews and other people of faith should also condemn the attack in Corvallis. Let us all work and pray for peace.
