Liz Smith Currie, a native of Palo Alto, CA., is the policy director for the Oregon School Based Health Care Network in Portland. Before taking this position she was employed for several years as the public policy director for Children First for Oregon. Liz is also a founding member of the Healthy Kids Learn Better Coalition. Liz worked as a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Representative Al Swift before moving to Oregon. She received her undergraduate degree from Whitman College in Washington State and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Lewis and Clark College in Oregon. Liz spent four years teaching at the high school level in Oregon public schools after graduating from Lewis and Clark. She is married to Chuck Currie and together they have twin daughters, Katherine and Frances.
